My fiancé and I have always faced life’s challenges together, but nothing could have prepared us for what happened this past week. On Saturday, 02/21, she started feeling sharp chest pains. Despite the pain, she continued working through a severe blizzard for three days, putting her responsibilities before her own well-being. When she finally had a day off on Thursday, 02/26, she went to urgent care, hoping for some answers. The staff there quickly realized something was wrong after an EKG and rushed her to the hospital. Things moved quickly from there—she was transferred to another hospital with a cardiology floor for more specialized care. By Friday afternoon, she was admitted to the cardiology unit, where she’s now waiting for a cardiac catheter procedure scheduled for Monday. The past few days have been a whirlwind of worry, fear, and uncertainty.
To make things even more overwhelming, I received a call from the hospital’s insurance department letting me know that our insurance is showing as inactive. This was shocking, since we had just finalized our coverage in December and were told we were set until 2027. Now, on top of everything else, we’re facing the possibility of huge medical bills and the stress of not knowing how we’ll manage. My fiancé can’t return to work right now because of her heart condition, and we’re worried about how we’ll cover both medical expenses and lost income, especially because I myself am already dealing with my own medical issues and am currently not able to work.
Funds will go towards medical bills, rent, utilities, and basic living needs while my fiancé recovers and I am unable to work due to my own medical issues. Your support and thoughts have meant the world to us already. If you’re able to help or share our story, it would make a huge difference as we navigate this difficult time. Thank you for being there for our family.
