Our sweet 6-year-old cat, Luna, has been through the fight of her life — not for the first time. When Luna was rescued as a tiny kitten, she was so sick that no one thought she would survive. But she fought with all her strength and proved she had a powerful will to live. Now, six years later, she is showing that same spirit again.

Just days ago, Luna swallowed a piece of thread that caused a dangerous intestinal blockage. She underwent emergency surgery and, for a moment, things looked hopeful, we were even able to bring her home. But shortly after, she still wasn’t eating, and we rushed her back to the hospital. That’s when the vets discovered her incision had dehisced, and she had also developed pancreatitis, leaving her critically ill and with low chances of survival.

The doctors honestly did not think she would make it… but Luna has been proving them wrong, just like she did as a baby. Against the odds, she’s been slowly recovering, little by little. This week, she finally started eating on her own again, which is a huge step forward. She has been hospitalized since August 29th, fighting so hard every single day.

We just want our Lulu (our nickname to her) to come home. To be with us and her four cat siblings (as you can see in the last picture), and to go back to her favorite spot by the window where she loves to watch the birds. She is the most loving, sweet companion, and she deserves the chance to heal surrounded by her family.

The costs of her multiple surgeries, intensive care, and hospital stay are overwhelming, and that’s why I’m asking for help.
