The reason why I decided to keep going with this Fundraiser was because I felt that being in the trenches like I was when I was trying to raise the funds for Cookie made me realize what I’ve chose to do for the rest of my life is extremely gut wrenching, exhausting, heart breaking and draining, both financially and emotionally. And I learned sometimes
“we can’t save them all no matter how hard we try”
Don’t get me wrong Rescue is also exhilarating, extraordinary and rewarding beyond words!!! But in reality You’re bound to be happy, sad, angry, frustrated, overjoyed, and confused — and that’s just the first hour of the day!
As a Rescuer we go through different scenarios daily which most of the time it requires immediate Medical attention which in order for myself to help a animal in distress or injured we always depend on TikTok & Facebook in order for us to to be able to raise the funds to help that animal. Just like it’s nearly impossible for us to find Foster it’s the same way when it comes down to us needing help from the public.
Cookies injuries could’ve been prevented if good pet parenting took effect in this. But unfortunately many animals like Cookie end up being the victims in bad pet ownership. We are always left to clean up their mess. I’ve learned that after rescuing animals for over 10Yrs.
My mission is:
To focus on the overlooked stray dog & cat population here in Houston. I also like to help and educate pet owners on the importance of spay and neuter.
