Help Us Continue Our Schooling in Japan!

Donation protected
Hello everyone!  We've started this GoFundMe to raise the funds for our education in Japan!  We've been teaching ourselves Japanese for about five years with official learning lasting for about two.  Now that we've graduated high school, we decided that we should continue our education in Japan.  After a couple months of research, we found the right school that catered to our needs! Akamonkai is Tokyo's largest language school that is dedicated to making sure that their curriculum caters to the students and facilitates a strong learning environment. ---- Charisma here!  Thank you for visiting our page! I've always been interested in art, but once I read Cardcaptor Sakura, I realized that I wanted to make it my career.  The brilliant merge between story and art, emotion and comedic playfulness, drew me more than any other piece of literature had done before. Once I graduate, I plan on getting a job as an assistant to the professional mangaka group CLAMP, learning the ins-and-outs of the craft with them.  All the while, I'll be publishing my own independent mangas and selling them at the nationwide convention, Comiket.  With this all under my belt, I'll soon be able to fulfill my ultimate dream: publishing my manga with Shounen Jump. ---- Hello everyone! I'm Bianca, nice to meet you! Like mentioned before, we've started this GoFundMe in order for us to continue our education in Japan! In the Fall of 2015, we began teaching ourselves Japanese just through whatever materials we could find. We used Tofugu a lot to teach ourselves hiragana and katakana, we would watch NHK world news and use Easy Japanese! to learn how to read the language and how to speak it, and, by the time we started our formal education in 2017, we had sufficiently mastered the basics of the language. I've always been fascinated with literature, especially classical literature, and it has always been my dream to become a professor and teach it. I loved how authors such as Edgar Allen Poe and Mary Shelley, along with Anthony Hope and William Shakespeare, created such a desirable relationship with the readers to the characters in their books that, by the end of the story, I completely forgot that I wasn't with the characters in actuality. After attending language school in Japan, my plan is to teach English and go to Keio University to get a Master's in English and American Literature with an emphasis in Japanese Literature. I will be specializing in the story structure and author-to-reader relationships, what makes English and Japanese Literature different, and how to combine these writing techniques for future authors to create a fuller and deeper relationship with their readers. Continuing my studies in Japan will allow me to read and understand Japanese literature firsthand and explore the meanings and techniques used. I would also be getting more exposure to Japanese and my speaking and pronunciation will greatly improve as well! It's great meeting you and thank you for reading. Hope to see you with me!
