My father is a loving, selfless, and deeply giving man. Throughout his life, he has always put others before himself and taught me one of the most important values I carry with me today: to give without expecting anything in return. He has lived by that principle every day, through his work, his family, and the way he shows up for others.

Today, our family is facing an unimaginable situation. My father is currently in critical condition in El Salvador due to a serious medical illness. We were hopeful—wishfully and prayerfully—that we would be able to bring him to the United States to receive care. Unfortunately, his condition has rapidly worsened and has complicated that possibility, leaving him hospitalized and fighting for his life here in El Salvador.

Unlike in the U.S., medical care in El Salvador requires payment as services are provided. Without continuous payment, care cannot continue. My family has done everything we can to cover the growing medical costs, but we are reaching the limits of what we can afford. The financial burden, combined with the emotional toll of seeing someone we love in critical condition, has been devastating.

I am holding on to hope that my father can survive this. But without the funds to continue supporting his medical care, we are faced with painful uncertainty about what options remain. This is not something I ever imagined asking for, but I cannot let my father go without exhausting every possible avenue to help him.
