Help Us Continue Life-Saving Care To The People Of Pakistan

“Whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of mankind.” (Qur’an 5:32)

As we enter the last 10 blessed days of Ramadan, a time when rewards are multiplied and many of us seek opportunities for lasting charity, we are reaching out to our community to help us continue supporting patients who cannot afford essential medical care.

Since 2021, Shahida Khaliq Hospital and Jahanara Rahman Hospital have quietly been helping patients who simply cannot afford essential medical treatment. During this time, we have covered the cost of care for more than 200 needy patients, ensuring they received the treatment they urgently needed when they had nowhere else to turn.

In the past year alone, we treated 35 charity patients, including both medical and surgical cases. The total cost of their care came to around PKR 1 Crore, with the average treatment costing around £1,000 per patient. These are individuals and families who would otherwise have been left without access to life-saving healthcare.

All charity cases — whether medical or surgical — are carried out strictly at cost. No profit is made from these treatments. Every donation goes directly toward the real cost of patient care, including medications, medical consumables, operating theatre expenses, and essential hospital services.

In previous years, we personally covered these costs. However, after making significant investments into new hospital equipment and construction to improve facilities and patient safety, we are no longer able to continue funding these cases on our own.

Our intention is simple: to help as many patients as we possibly can.

To continue supporting patients at similar levels to last year, and to ensure we can also respond to more severe or emergency cases, we are hoping to raise £35,000. This fund will allow us to keep providing treatment to those who otherwise have no access to care. We have previously raised money on a case by case basis during Ramadan – But this time we decided to change it up.

We want everyone who contributes to see the impact of their donation.

Anyone who donates and leaves their telephone number will be added to a WhatsApp updates group, where we will share:
• Updates on the charity cases we carry out
• A breakdown of treatment costs
• A video of the operation and follow up interview.

This allows you to follow the journey and see exactly how your contribution is helping transform lives, inshaAllah.

We also believe in complete openness. If anyone would like to review records of the charity cases we have carried out since 2021, you are welcome to contact us directly and we will happily provide this information.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Allah is in the aid of His servant as long as the servant is in the aid of his brother.” (Muslim)

The last 10 nights of Ramadan are among the most powerful nights of the year, and within them lies Laylatul Qadr, a night better than a thousand months. A single act of charity during these nights can carry rewards beyond what we can imagine.

This is more than just a donation. It is an opportunity for Sadaqah Jariyah — a charity that continues to bring reward long after it is given.

May Allah accept from all of us and place barakah in every contribution.
