Help us complete Kitchens of Toronto Season 2

Imagine a Toronto docu-food series highlighting ethnic communities, where you get to learn about the history of the area and the food scene. Kitchens of Toronto Season 2 wants to take things further by telling the history and food stories of ethnic neighbourhoods affected and transformed by construction, gentrification and the pandemic. This season will serve as a digital time capsule to help preserve the legacy of ethnic communities that make the city of Toronto so special. This series is created by Toronto-based content creator, Margarette Leandre, also known as CharisMaggie.

Hi, my name is Maggie, the creator and producer of this series and I am raising funds to complete this series. Last year, we were able to secure funding through Ontario Creates and the Canada Media Fund to produce a trailer and pilot episode. The pilot episode features Little Jamaica and highlights 3 restaurant owners and the newest grocery store in the area.

Here's how your contribution will make a difference:

1. Marketing efforts- this includes covering the submission fee for film festivals. I have entered 2 festivals so far and have been nominated for the LA Webfest. Other marketing efforts include running ads and paying for additional editing needed to promote this project.

2. Travel: Some of the most impactful festivals are international, and your donation helps cover travel expenses to showcase 'Kitchens of Toronto' on a global stage. These opportunities not only raise awareness but can also lead to partnerships and licensing deals.

3. Production : Your support ensures the highest production quality for the remaining episodes of Season 2. From hiring talented crews to capturing the essence of each community, every dollar contributes to crafting an unforgettable viewing experience.
