Help Us Complete The Wasteland – A community art project in Sri Lanka and the UK, leading to a short film and exhibition about ocean pollution and climate justice.
Ocean pollution in Sri Lanka is pushing coastal communities to the brink—destroying marine life, threatening livelihoods, and impacting food security. The Wasteland is a powerful collaborative project created with young people in Kalpitiya, transforming plastic waste collected from beaches into striking wearable sculptures, a fashion shoot, and a performance.
The film’s audio draws on the iconic speech by Severn Cullis-Suzuki, delivered at the Rio Earth Summit, amplifying a message of urgent environmental responsibility that still resonates today.
We are raising funds to complete the short film and produce a public exhibition to share these voices and stories.
Please donate and share—help us turn waste into change.
