Help us combat Blood Cancer this Easter

This is Chelsea’s story. In August 2024 I was the fittest and strongest version of myself. I was only 22 and absolutely thriving. That same month, I had the ultimate shock when I was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer.

My life, as well as my family’s, was thrown upside down. I was told I had Leukaemia & within the same hour I was thrown into an ambulance & sent to the cancer ward where I lived for over 30 days. I never got to return home during that time, let alone get to go to work or go outside for a walk.

For 7 months, I completed one of the most aggressive treatment protocols known. My body was unrecognisable. I quickly saw the effects the horrible sickness has on individuals, families & communities. The cancer council and leukaemia foundation were absolutely incredible at supporting myself and everyone that I met going through a cancer diagnosis.

I’m thankfully now in remission and recovery having finished treatment last month, I’m doing everything I can to give back to those who got me through this time.

Blood cancer is quickly becoming the deadliest and most common cancer in Australia, and the incidence has increased by 79% over the past 10 years.

Chelsea, her Mother Nancy, Sister Adrianne and Brother Ben have been apart of the community at Persist Fitness since we opened our doors. They have given us so much in support to a cause that was important to us. Help us give back to a cause that is now important to them.

Join us in raising funds for the cancer council to support research for prevention and early detection, as well as (hopefully) a cure. Some of the most incredible and strong people out there are battling this and need the support. I wouldn’t have been able to get through my diagnosis and treatment without the supporting charities.
