Beth Giordano Stapleton was a beloved mother, friend, and teacher. She left this world too soon, at age 58, on August 6, 2021, in Houston, Texas.

Beth was born in Batavia, New York on July 4, 1963. She moved to El Paso, Texas as a teenager and graduated from Coronado High School in 1981. After starting a family, Beth went back to school to become a teacher. She graduated from UTEP in 2001 with a 4.0 GPA and a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

In 2001, Beth began teaching 4th Grade Connections at Kohlberg Elementary School, where she continued teaching until her passing. Beth fostered creativity and imagination in her students, friends, and family. She always encouraged curiosity, was eager for quick-witted banter, and saw the humor during even the most challenging times. From raising her children to writing curriculum for EPISD to provoking Red Sox fans, Beth's dedication was unwavering.

Beth is preceded in death by her father (Ernest T. Giordano) and is survived by her daughter (Evan Stapleton), son (Oliver Stapleton), mother (Joan Giordano), two brothers (Ernie and Paul Giordano), nieces, cousins, beloved friends, pets (Hope and Loki), and students from her 20 years of teaching, all of whom she considered family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to this campaign in Beth’s memory. Donations will help Beth’s children offset the costs of end of life and memorial expenses. Any funds raised in excess of our goal will be used to create a charitable fund for the teachers and students to whom Beth dedicated her life.
