On June 8th, we lost a true friend and one-of-a-kind soul. Mikey brought joy, warmth, and connection to everyone around him. Whether you knew him for a moment or a lifetime, chances are he left you with a smile and a memory that stuck.

With permission from his mother and family, we are launching this GoFundMe to help honor Mikey’s life in the way he would have wanted—surrounded by the people who loved him, in a setting full of heart, music, stories, and community.

I’m organizing a Celebration of Life that reflects Mikey’s spirit—something more like a wedding reception than a traditional memorial. He would have wanted a party surrounded by friends, good music, food, and the stories that made him unforgettable.

We’ve received an incredible outpouring of support and offers to help. Because of that, I’m opening up this fundraiser to allow friends, family, and supporters to contribute to making this event meaningful and accessible to all who want to attend.

What Your Donation Will Help Cover:

• Venue space and reservation fees

• Food and catering for guests

• Transportation assistance for out-of-town friends and family

• Live music and sound equipment for storytelling

• A tithe donation to the church hosting the wake

• A charitable donation in Mikey’s name to support men’s mental health initiatives

While most funds will go toward preparing a proper send off, a portion will be donated on Mikey’s behalf to support causes that mattered—particularly mental health awareness, a cause we all agree needs more visibility and compassion.

This isn’t just about covering costs—it’s about giving Mikey the farewell he deserves and helping those left behind find healing, hope, and a shared space to remember.
