Help Us Celebrate Sharon's Loving Legacy

To know my mother, Sharon "Big Mama" Hughes, is to know that she was a woman full of love. Taken too soon, at just 56 years young, my mother leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, a fierce spirit, and wisdom beyond imagination. Growing up, I can remember our home being 'the house' the cousins and family would regularly visit. They knew "Big Mama" was going to cook on Sundays, and it was the place they could leave their kids - in good hands.

My mother loved her family beyond words, and I will always remember her telling me, "Love is an action word." It was not enough just to say, "I love you," she modeled for me the importance of showing that you love people. It was not uncommon for her to plan family gatherings, take the kids to local parks, and spend time visiting family.

I used to wonder, why do my friends love my mother so much? It seems no matter where she went, "sons" and "daughters" would gravitate towards her. I would soon learn it was her calling in life - to be a safe space for all! This echoed in the multitude of laughter, family gatherings, visits, phone calls, and tears shared with TT Sharon!

Unfortunately, we find ourselves in an all-too-common situation where we are left with a balance for funeral services. I would be immensely grateful if you could find it in your heart to donate in her memory. #BigMama #SharonHughes #ILoveYouMama
