Help us celebrate Robbie Richard's life - Funeral Fund

My name is Chris, and I was one of Robbie's best mates.

It hurts to write this, not sure what to say, but after speaking with Robbie's mum, Jan Meyers (my second Mum) and with Jan's permission.

I am setting up this campaign to fund the funeral costs for Robbie Richards.

Robbie was an absolute character, quick with the wit, an all around sports star, a loyal mate, and the last to leave a party, and the first to start one.

If you had a couch, he probably slept on it.

He was taken too early, and he leaves us full of stories and an ache in our hearts; he had plans and wasn't done yet.

I have set up this to avoid his mum, Jan, submitting for state funding, which will take 1-2 weeks and come with a bunch of conditions.

Let's get together and give Robbie the send off he deserves.

We want to use a funeral service on the west side (Anzac Hwy) near his mum's home.

Jan wants a cardboard coffin, to keep costs down and so everyone can write on it and send him off with their own message. We estimate $5,799 (Simplicity Funerals) which dosent include costs from gofundme. I will update the exact costs once I have confirmation from the service provider.

Any additional funds received will go into a trust fund for Alira.

Robbie would have wanted a simple funeral, with an epic send off to celebrate, laugh, cry, punch on afterwards.

Everyone has a Robbie Story.

He will be cremated, and Jan will spread his ashes in his favourite fishing spot on Kangaroo Island.
