In August 2025, Theresa suffered a major stroke on the right side of her brain, leading to 48 days in hospitals and rehabilitation centers. During her treatment, doctors discovered a mass on her ovaries, indicating at least stage II ovarian cancer. They determined that the cancer caused her blood to clot, which ultimately led to the stroke.
After 48 days, Theresa was sent home on blood thinners in hopes of preventing another stroke and giving her time to regain enough strength to treat the cancer. Unfortunately, on October 31st, she suffered another massive stroke, this time affecting nearly half of the left side of her brain. Her doctors have shared that the level of brain damage and inability to treat the cancer leaves no possibility for recovery.
For the past two weeks, Theresa has been surrounded by family and friends as she approaches the end of her life. We are asking for donations to help give Theresa the heartfelt send-off she deserves. She was a wonderful mother, wife, mawmaw, daughter, sister, aunt, and so much more. Please consider donating so we can properly honor her life. Anything left over after paying for funeral expenses will be donated to the Saint Louis Zoo in Theresa’s name.
