On June 16th, 2025, our beloved sister, mother, auntie, cousin, and friend, lost her life to the fight against cancer.

In January of 2022, Daveene was diagnosed with stage 4B endometrial cancer and went through one year of chemotherapy and radiation. During this time, she was extremely sick, losing her hair, her strength, and her dignity, but never her light and beauty.

After a short remission, the doctors found that the cancer had spread to her lungs. Daveene started another round of treatment in 2025 and two weeks following, suffered a brain bleed due to her cancer. As a result, our family had to make the difficult decision to take her off life support.

Daveene fought with everything she had, but the cancer was stronger than she was. There was nothing bigger than her energy, her wicked sense of humor, her myriad of crazy stories, and her heart full of love. Daveene brought laughter and joy into every life that she touched and nothing in this world will ever be able to fill the empty space she left behind.

Daveene lived a simple life in Albuquerque, NM and is survived by her son Vincent and daughter-in-law Maggie.

As a result of her sudden passing, our family needs your help to lay our beautiful Daveene to rest and hold a memorial celebration of her life. Our family is incredibly humbled and grateful for anything you can do to help make this happen.
