We’re incredibly grateful to share that we’ve officially reached our GoFundMe goal. My family and I know in our hearts that my dad would be so proud and happy to see how many people came together in his honor. Your support, love, and generosity mean more than we can express.
For anyone who’s just hearing about this or arrived a little late, Fitzgerald’s will be hosting an open-house fundraiser on December 10th at 7pm, the public is welcome to stop by and be part of the celebration and also have an opportunity to purchase a print of the mural which will contribute to funding. Alternatively, if you’d prefer to donate directly to the establishment’s mural fund, you can find the gofundme at the very bottom of the link below.
Thank you again to everyone who contributed, shared, or simply kept us in your thoughts. It truly means the world to us. ❤️
My family and I have recently come across a unique opportunity to give my mom a really meaningful Christmas gift. Fitzgerald’s in Berwyn, one of my dad’s favorite blues bars to see music and to play at, is updating parts of their property, including a new mural and a brick walkway. You can see the project details here:
My sister and I are already purchasing a brick for the walkway in his honor, but we would also love to include him in the mural as a lasting way to recognize a place that meant so much to him.
This project felt like the perfect chance not only to honor my dad, but to bring together the people who knew him, loved him, or simply want to be part of keeping his memory alive. It also gives us the opportunity to support a local business that was incredibly meaningful to him.
If you’d like to help us reach the total needed for the mural, we would truly appreciate it. Every contribution, big or small, helps us make this gift possible for my mom and gives our family something special to hold onto, while also supporting a community spot that meant so much to my dad.
Thank you all so much for your support and for being part of this.
