Our beloved Angela passed from Stage 4 cervical and lung cancer after years of being misdiagnosed and ignored. At first, they told her it was fibroids. Then asthma. Then nothing to worry about. But she kept going back, saying something felt wrong, and no one truly listened. By the time our beloved Angela was finally diagnosed on March 22, 2024, the cancer had already spread from her cervix to her lungs and bones. It was already too late, but we still had faith in the treatment, holding on to hope that her strength and God’s grace would carry her through.

Although she went through both chemotherapy and radiation, the treatments did not work. Chemo and radiation made her body too fragile to walk or take care of herself, and the toll it took on her body was devastating. After these treatments, her condition declined quickly. She was sent home on hospice, barely able to eat, breathe, or move. They gave up on her when she needed them most. We were left to watch her fade away, knowing it did not have to be this way.

Our beloved Angela lived just over a year with her diagnosis, holding onto her faith until May 30, 2025, when she slipped from our reach. She was a daughter, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, and a cherished aunt. She meant everything to us.

Her mother, her daughters, her sisters and brothers, her granddaughters and grandsons, her nieces and nephews, her cousins, and all who loved her are grieving deeply and doing their best to carry her love forward. She was the heart of our family. Her bond with her daughters was deep and unbreakable. Her grandchildren are grieving with quiet strength. Her siblings are carrying this loss with heavy hearts. Her nieces and nephews adored her, and our younger cousins, some of them still babies, will grow up only knowing her through the stories we share.

She always said, “God don’t make mistakes.” Those are the words we are holding onto, even now, when the grief feels unbearable.
