This is embarrassing and something I wish I didn’t have to do, I’m desperate And not sure what else to do. My name is Danielle I am a EMT for NYU. I was injured June 2, 2021 while on the job and have been out of work since. I was injured lifting an active stroke patient. I have multiple slipped disc and pinched nerves and have yet to be cleared to go back to work. I’m meeting with surgeons for consult to see what my next step is so I can get back to work and back on a truck asap. Since I’ve been out for over 6 months 1199 had dropped my benefits as well . Things have become rougher over the past few months. Regular monthly bills are behind since November, property taxes, car payments, insurances and so much more are behind. I have spoken to everyone one about extensions multiple times but it seems like I have run out of time and everyone wants there money before we start loosing everything. I’m no longer receiving workers comp and had to hire a lawyer to get that situated, and to top it all off my husband was recently injured at work. We have gone from a two person income to a no income household. We have emptied out our savings months ago and are just trying to stay afloat and in our home. Anything will help and is greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much!
