My name is Melissa Molina, and I am raising funds for my dad, Joel Hernandez.

My father is losing his battle with cancer, and our family is running out of time to help him and prepare for what comes next.

He is a devoted husband, father of five and grandfather of three, who has spent his entire life working to provide for our family. For the past 22 years, he has also been a constant caregiver to my youngest sibling, who has severe autism and depends on full-time care. My dad has always put his family first, no matter how hard things got.

The past two years have been overwhelming. My father was injured at work, which caused him to lose out on opportunities to support our family. Soon after, his car was broken into, leaving him without transportation for months. Just when things finally seemed like they might turn around and he was able to secure work again, we were hit with devastating news. He was diagnosed with cancer, and it came suddenly, aggressively, and without warning.

Now, everything has changed. As he continues to decline, our family is struggling to keep up with basic living expenses while also trying to cope with the reality of what we are facing. We are doing everything we can, but it is not enough.

One of our greatest fears is what will happen next. We are trying to ensure that my mother and my younger sibling will have the support and care they need, especially my sibling who relies on daily assistance and stability.
