Help us provide care for our resident duck!

One of the best perks of living in our community is getting to watch our ducks. We often have mallard ducks come through the area, but there was a group of 5 domestic ducks that a previous resident raised from ducklings and then abandoned when she moved away. Several residents have provided care for them over the years since they cannot fly, and my mom and I have cared for the remaining 3 domestic ducks over the past few years that we’ve lived here.

Sadly, we are down to only one duck remaining. The past few days he has been very sick, having muscle spasms and vomiting a lot. We were able to catch him and take him to the vet and now we are doing our best to provide him care to the best of our ability, but the costs keep adding up.

We are waiting on test results that can take up to a week or two but the vets currently believe that he could have an infection from bad food or bad water, or he could have metal toxicity since they saw metal in his system on the x-rays.

We are doing everything we can for him, but wanted to give our community an update since we have met many neighbors over the past few years that love them too. If you would like to contribute towards his medical bills, we are grateful for anything at all you can provide, even $5 can help.
