Hi, my name is Vanessa and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family for support during an incredibly difficult time. Our beloved grandfather, Jose, recently suffered two strokes including an acute ischemic stroke affecting the right side of his brain, specifically the frontal lobe and internal capsule. He’s currently hospitalized in Ensenada, Mexico, where he’s receiving care. Unfortunately, the blockage in his brain has not resolved with initial treatment, and he’s set to be discharged soon to continue recovery under specialist supervision.

The real challenge begins now.

Our grandfather lives alone in a remote ranch with no electricity, running water, or safe flooring, and given his current condition, it is no longer a suitable or safe place for him. He now needs constant supervision, help with daily activities, and ongoing medical treatment to prevent further complications like choking, falling, or another stroke.

We are doing all we can as a family to step in and support him. However, the financial strain is heavy. We urgently need help to secure a short-term rental with the bare necessities (electricity, water, safe flooring, a functioning bathroom), pay for medications, arrange follow-up care with specialists, and provide full-time help during this fragile stage of his recovery.

Hola, mi nombre es Vanessa y estoy escribiendo en nombre de mi familia para pedir apoyo en este momento tan difícil. Nuestro querido abuelito, José, sufrió recientemente dos eventos, incluyendo cerebrovascular isquémico agudo que afectó el lado derecho de su cerebro, específicamente el lóbulo frontal y la cápsula interna. Actualmente está hospitalizado en Ensenada, México, recibiendo atención médica. Lamentablemente, el coágulo en su cerebro no ha desaparecido con el tratamiento inicial, y pronto será dado de alta para continuar su recuperación con especialistas.

Aquí es donde comienza el verdadero desafío.

Nuestro abuelito vive solo en un rancho remoto, sin electricidad, agua corriente, ni suelo firme y dada su condición actual, ya no es un lugar seguro para él. Ahora necesita supervisión constante, ayuda con actividades diarias y atención médica continua para prevenir complicaciones como atragantarse, caídas o un tercer derrame cerebral.

Como familia, estamos haciendo todo lo posible para ayudarlo. Sin embargo, la carga económica es muy pesada. Urgentemente necesitamos apoyo para conseguir un lugar temporal con lo básico (electricidad, agua, baño, piso firme), pagar sus medicamentos, consultas con especialistas y asistencia de tiempo completo durante esta etapa tan delicada de su recuperación.
