Help me help my hero before I go.

Hi. Name's Marshall. This fundraiser is NOT for me. It's for my hero. My dad. Due to a series of successive illnesses and medical issues, he's been bed ridden for 2 years. He lost his leg, had a spinal surgery that temporarily paralyzed him to the point where he would have to learn how to walk again. And as a complication of the back surgery, he lost the use of his bladder altogether and.... can't feel when he has to ...um...go number 2. So my step mother has to... perform Clean up. And I'm not going to spend time downing her, but she is not the best caretaker. I was at some point hoping to be able to move him to me and provide better care. However, due to some choices, some afflictions I was born with, and now, being not long for this world myself, that's not in the cards. Since having my toe amputated in November of last year, I've spent more time in the hospital than not. Can't go a week off antibiotics without becoming various degrees of sick. As I sit in the hospital now with Pneumonia, sepsis, and mrsa...we've recently learned that I'm immunocompromised. What we don't know is why. We DO know that I'm not responding to treatment this time. I have the EXACT thing that killed Kyle Busch (the NASCAR driver) just a month-ish ago. So, my wish with this fundraiser is to help cover some things that would GREATLY improve my father's quality of life. Things that his 40 years of dedication to the same company's retirement and Medicaid won't cover without some cash on top.

My father spent his entire life working his Ass off to make sure his autistic son with treatment resistant anxiety and depression disorders and SEVERE PTSD had the best life. Only in sober adulthood (of course, too late to return the sentiment) am I able to realize how much he went without to make sure I didn't. And growing up in a VERY affluent community, I had the best clothes, the coolest guitars and drums and video games and toys. I realize now how smart he was. He knew I'd already be bullied for being "different" (we didn't know I had autism until I was 15ish ...and times were different in the 80s and 90s) so he made sure I had the best of the best so people would like me for my possessions. Turns out that I was always 4 inches taller than the next tallest kid, and was gifted at sports and for whatever reason, kids found my "differences" endearing or something...so I only dealt with some light bullying and was taught early how to take up for myself. Point is....my dad spent his life making mine the best and I never knew to show my gratitude. So, I would like to ask YOU to help me show that gratitude before I'm unable to. Even if you cannot donate, posting and sharing is a MASSIVE help! Thanks and God bless!
