Help Us Care for Dad’s Horses & Manage Unexpected Costs
Last week, our family experienced a heartbreaking loss—my father-in-law passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. As we grieve his passing, we are also faced with the heavy responsibility of managing the affairs he left behind, including the care of his two beloved horses. He was a kind, hardworking man who spent his life around horses as a well respected farrier. They weren’t just animals to him; they were part of who he was.
My husband and I are an active-duty Army family with two young children. While we’re used to adapting and overcoming challenges, this has been especially difficult both emotionally and financially.
We inherited his two horses, and bringing them safely from Florida to our home in Louisiana was just the beginning. They now need proper shelter, secure fencing, and ongoing care. These costs are adding up quickly, and on top of that, we will have to make multiple more trips back and forth to Florida to handle arrangements and close out his affairs—each trip stretching our already tight budget.
We are doing our best to honor his memory and provide a loving, safe home for his animals, but we could really use help during this time.
Any donation, no matter the size, will go toward:
• Transporting the horses safely
• Building fencing and shelter
• Veterinary and feed expenses
• Travel costs between Florida and Louisiana
We’re deeply grateful for your kindness, prayers, and support. Thank you for helping us carry this load and ensure that his horses are safe and cared for.
With love,
Brandon, Jessica, Mason, and Tanner Burns
