Hi everyone my name is Imogen Hennessy and on the 29th of March, my grandad and I will be running a 10k for Compton Care, a truly remarkable charity that means so much to me and so many others. Compton Care provides compassionate, specialist support to people living with life-limiting illnesses, ensuring they are treated with dignity and kindness during the most vulnerable chapters of their lives.

They go far beyond traditional medical care, offering comfort, emotional support, and reassurance to both patients and their families during moments no one is ever prepared for. Their work ensures that no one faces the end of life alone and that everyone is treated with respect, understanding, and compassion.

The Importance of Fundraising

Fundraising helps make everything Compton Care does possible. While their services are free to those in need, they are not free to provide. The majority of their funding comes from the generosity of the community rather than the government. Every pound raised helps cover the costs of specialist palliative nursing, bereavement counselling for grieving families, and the "Hospice at Home" care that allows patients to remain in a familiar, loving environment. Without public donations, these essential services which are there for families during their hardest moments simply could not exist.

We are running to honour those we have lost and to sustain the vital work that the team at Compton carries out every single day.
