Help us care for Brandon as his parents recover

February 21st update: Thanks to everyone for your generosity. Brandon's parents (Ashkan and Ingrid) have been moved to a step down facility and are receiving physical therapy. They are gaining strength everyday and are able to move using walker. Their recovery journey will continue in the US once they are allowed to take the long 12+ hour flight. Please help us by sharing their story and link to this fundraiser with your network.

Hi, my name is Sudi. Today is Random Act of Kindness Day and I am hoping that you will take this opportunity to help a family that is dealing with a family emergency.

10 years ago, I reached out to the community for help as the Karimi family (my cousin and his family) faced a heart-wrenching incident that shook their family forever. In September 2013, on his younger brother's birthday, Brandon went into an ecliptic shock and was found unconscious. He suffered oxygen deprivation to his brain (ABI) due to an undetected heart condition. With generous help from family, friends, and the community, they were able to purchase a van, pay for oxygen therapy, and cover family's expenses while his parents focused on Brandon.

10+ years later, Brandon is now 24 years old, and his loving Mom has dedicated her undivided attention to his care. Brandon is paraplegic and has a feeding tube. Brandon's father is a pilot and was recently promoted to Capitan. To celebrate this occasion and to give his Mom a much needed break, they went to New Zealand for a vacation after they were able to secure two nurses and grandparents time. Unfortunately, while on vacation, they were hit by a truck. We are grateful that they are both alive, but they were left broken hip, shoulder, and rib. Ash, Brandon's Dad had to go through reconstructive surgery. They are both hospitalized in New Zealand and are expected to be there for 4 weeks before they are allowed to fly back. They will both need additional therapy and medical attention when they get home.

Everyone in New Zealand, including visitors, is covered for medical care for accidental injuries through ACC, which is wonderful. However, the cost of keeping nurses around the clock to carr for Brandon is mounting up along with the anticipated cost of bringing his parents back with medical attention.

I hope you will help us raise money to help this family with the financial burden as a result of this car accident while they focus on their physical recovery. Please also share this link with other caring members in your circle.
