Help Us Care for Baby Atlas Through His Brave Fight With FARS2
Hi, my name is Cameron my girlfriends name is Jordan We are the young parents to a beautiful baby boy named Atlas, who was recently diagnosed with a rare, life-limiting genetic disorder called FARS2. It’s a mitochondrial condition that affects energy production in his cells—leading to seizures, muscle weakness, and severe neurological complications.
FARS2 is an ultra-rare genetic disorder—fewer than a hundred cases have ever been documented worldwide.
Atlas is currently in hospice care after spending long, grueling weeks in the hospital. Every day we have with him is a gift. He’s alert, he coos at us, he turns toward sounds—he’s a fighter. But this genetic disorder is unforgiving. There is no cure, and we’ve been told that time is heartbreakingly short.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Because of Atlas’s condition, I’ve had to take time off from work to be with him during hospital stays, seizures, and now hospice at home. I work full time, early mornings, but even that isn’t enough when your child needs you around the clock.
We’re facing mounting financial strain—from lost wages, to gas and travel for appointments, to basic living costs. I’ve stretched every dollar, but caring for a terminally ill child while keeping a roof over our heads is simply not something one paycheck can carry alone.
My girlfriend stays home full-time to care for Atlas, and we’re doing everything we can to give him comfort, love, and dignity in the time we have left.
Where the Funds Will Go
Covering lost income due to time off work
Basic bills: rent, utilities, groceries
Gas and transport to and from medical appointments.
Supplies to help care for Atlas at home
Emergency expenses that always seem to come up in situations like this
Every donation helps, no matter how small. Even if you can’t give, just sharing this page can mean everything to us.
Why Atlas Deserves the World
Atlas didn’t ask for any of this. But despite everything—despite seizures, IV lines, oxygen tanks—he smiles. He tries to hold his pacifier. He’s held on longer than doctors expected. He deserves to feel the fresh air, and his parents unconditional love. And we want to give him every bit of joy and life we can while he’s here.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We love you, Atlas.
