Eastern Shore Spaceflight is a family-led project dedicated to sharing the excitement of space exploration from right here on the Eastern Shore. My lifelong passion for rockets began in Florida, watching space shuttle launches and visiting the Kennedy Space Center. Learning that my family is related to astronaut Alan Bean, the fourth person to walk on the moon, only deepened my fascination. Although I became an I.T. engineer instead of an aerospace engineer, my love for space and rockets never faded. Last year, I even visited Starbase in Texas, and now, living just 4.6 miles from NASA Wallops Island, I have the chance to bring the latest updates to fellow enthusiasts.

Through our channels—Eastern Shore Spaceflight on X, Facebook, and YouTube—I share daily photos and videos of NASA Wallops Island, Rocket Lab’s Electron and Neutron launch pads, and ongoing infrastructure updates. Right now, I rely on a drone and an iPhone 15 Pro Max, but the distance from public viewing points (1.6 to 2.6 miles) means my photos and videos are limited by digital zoom and lower resolution. With a mirrorless camera and quality lenses, I’ll be able to capture high-resolution, detailed images and videos at both close and long range, providing much clearer and more engaging content for our followers.
