Help us buy resources for underfunded schools
Donation protected
Hi everyone, recently my friend Alfie and I travelled to Ghana to do some volunteering work at a day care centre and secondary school in Akropong teaching English. Although only having been there for a short time we both fell in love with the two schools we were working in and the children who go there (aged 6 months- 16 years). Every day the kids had big smiles on their faces and were extremely excited and eager to learn. However, this was made difficult for them as the school is greatly underfunded with very limited resources. Often there were not enough pens or pencils available to both the teachers and the children. When the children have their afternoon nap they have to sleep on the floor which is not only uncomfortable but extremely unsanitary. There were no textbooks and only a few reading books available for the entire centre to share between all classes and year groups. We would love to try and improve the life chances of these amazing young people. Our aim is to raise enough money to buy necessary equipment such as a printer, a wall clock, a water filter and reading books for this beautiful school and their incredible children. Any amount you can give would mean the world to both Alfie and I, but above all to the children of Adom Day Care and Tore Eikeland school. Please help us help them.
