Mexico is color, music, tradition, and community, and in 2026, we want to proudly showcase all of that at the Calgary Stampede Parade

Soul of México Cultural Society is a Calgary based, non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and sharing Mexican culture through high quality, community driven projects.

Our goal is to participate in the Calgary Stampede Parade 2026, one of Canada’s most iconic cultural events and to build a vibrant Mexican float and cultural contingent that represents Mexico with dignity, creativity, and pride, while strengthening cultural connection and visibility within the broader Calgary community.

The Story Behind Our Float

This float celebrates the cultural and natural richness of Mexico through the symbol of the monarch butterfly and its millenary journeys. It is a poetic tribute to life, memory, and the strength of nature and Mexican culture, showing how the ancestral, the artistic, and the natural intertwine in a journey of beauty, identity, and transcendence.

Just as the monarch butterfly crosses borders guided by its instinct, this project also honors the stories of migration that connect Mexico and Canada, journeys marked by courage, adaptation, and hope. Each flight symbolizes the path of those who have left their homeland to build new lives without losing their roots, carrying with them culture, memory, and a deep sense of belonging.

This float celebrates that shared journey, where identity is not lost, but blossoms in new territories, enriching the communities that welcome us.

Why We Need Your Support

This project is being developed through our own efforts and resources, with countless volunteer hours, planning, and community collaboration. However, the construction and participation costs are significant.

Funds raised through this campaign will support:
