Help Us Build the Future of Cricket in Northern Thailand

Since 2012, Lanna Cricket Club has been much more than a group of people playing cricket on weekends: we are a community made up of people from across the world who have chosen Chiang Mai as home. We have built a club that brings together players of every age, background and nationality, a group of people that believe above everything else that the future of cricket in Northern Thailand belongs to Thai players.

Our goal is simple: create opportunities for young people through cricket.

This campaign will help us rebuild and expand grassroots cricket development across Chiang Mai and the surrounding provinces, ensuring the next generation has the chance to discover, enjoy and excel in a sport that can open doors far beyond the boundary rope.

Why Are We Doing This?

Years ago, cricket in Chiang Mai was thriving through school programmes that introduced hundreds of Thai children to the game. Many of today's Thai players at Lanna Cricket Club first picked up a bat through those initiatives.

Unfortunately, much of that momentum was lost during the COVID pandemic.

Despite limited resources, we've continued supporting Thai players, funding local fixtures, organising development matches, and ensuring young cricketers have opportunities to play alongside experienced players from around the world.

Now we want to go further.

We believe cricket has the power to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership and lifelong friendships. It creates opportunities to travel, experience new cultures, represent your community and even your country.

Our ambition isn't simply to build a stronger cricket club; it's to help build a stronger future for cricket in Northern Thailand.

Building Bridges in Northern Thai Cricket:

One of the things that makes Lanna Cricket Club unique is that we aren't simply an expat cricket club, our vision has always been to bring people together through cricket.

Today our club regularly includes players from many different nationalities playing alongside Thai cricketers, learning from one another and building lasting friendships both on and off the field.

We've proudly supported long-standing relationships with clubs such as the Northern Lions in Lamphun and have organised development series that celebrate Northern Thailand's growing cricket community.

We want to build even stronger connections by creating more fixtures, more opportunities for young Thai players, and more chances for local talent to compete alongside experienced cricketers.

Success will be measured by seeing more Thai players taking up cricket, more local coaches leading school sessions, a sustainable pathway into elite cricket, and opportunities created not only within the sport, but in life beyond it.

Looking Forward:

We are only at the beginning of our journey. Our vision is to create a sustainable pathway from school cricket to club cricket, regional competition and, ultimately, national representation. We want every young player in Northern Thailand to know that cricket is a sport they can belong to.
