Help Us Build the First-Ever Dog Parks Behind Prison Walls
Wiley's Wish Rescue and the Second Chance Canine Program at Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga, California, are thrilled to share some exciting news — we’re building a first-of-its-kind, off-leash dog park right inside the prison grounds.
This secure space will be dedicated to the dogs enrolled in our transformative training program, where incarcerated residents work one-on-one with rescue dogs to help them become adoption ready. The impact is powerful — not just for the dogs, but for the people, too.
We’re working to create a safe, secure training asset to the prison — a zen garden, if you will — a peaceful space where both dogs and residents can connect, grow, and heal. It will be a place to play, train, and simply be dogs.
Our goal is to raise $30,000, with $5,000 needed for sod in each yard alone. Beyond that, we hope to provide enrichment equipment like doggy pools, step-up platforms, a grooming station, and other essentials that support both physical training and emotional bonding.
The residents have already poured their hearts into this project. They’ve cleaned the area, pulled weeds, dug trenches, and installed sprinklers — all with pride and purpose. Now, we're ready for the next step.
With your support, we can build something truly extraordinary — a space of hope, healing, and second chances.
All donations are tax-deductible.
From all of us at Wiley's Wish Rescue and Second Chance, thank you for believing in our mission.
