Hello Satisfactory Community,
Last year, Coffee Cup brought you Climbing the Corporate Ladder , where we challenged players to climb to the top of a "deep dip" style tower in a factory cart. We gave out $2,000 in prizes and had 500 players come race with us. It was insane and a lot of fun.
This year, we are hosting TWO community events simultaneously. Both are being built right now, and so far they are much, much larger in scope and scale.
Check out the teaser video to get the overview. Here are a few more specifics.
Event 1: The Coffee Cup...CUP
- We have about 70 builders making a round-the-map explorer race track right now and are still accepting new builders.
- Sometime this summer (TBA), we will invite EVERYONE AND ANYONE to come race in a time trial. The event will run for one month and you can race as much or as little as you want during that time to try and get the best time.
- Like last time, we will have tons of other little prizes along the way for finding hidden items, getting the funniest video, finding the best unintended shortcut, etc.
- To join as a builder, fill out the form and wait to be contacted by Silvereen or Natro
Event 2: Fill the Map
- This is not a "live" event in the same way that the race will be. Instead, it is an ongoing project that will take however long it takes.
- The goal is to fill as much of the map as possible with functional factory. The end result will generate the maximum number of sink points, generate 1TW of power, and beat the game (among other goals). In short, it will either be the biggest factory ever built or it will brick the save and crash the server. Any of these are fine with us.
- Throughout and at the end of the event, there will be a Twitch showcase by Aunty K and Booty. Others are welcome to make videos as well if they participate.
- Each builder can build as much or as little as they want. Just sign up and check with Fish and Jondy.
Here is what we will do with any money we receive:
First $250 - Merch store prize pool. Will be matched by Heroic Replicas up to this amount which gives us $500 toward official merch store prizes. (Not funded yet)
Beyond $250 - Reimburse team members for pre-approved out of pocket costs. This includes outreach costs, discord boosts, website hosting, song rights, paid mods/programming, etc. (Not-Funded yet)
Further donations after the event breaks even on costs- A few ideas. But up in the air still until we get closer to that point. We will inform you immediately when we know what we want to do if we reach this point.
Safety Checks:
We will provide you with receipts if you'd like to know exactly where your donation went. Transparency is important to us. Similar to last year, we have made our prize pool documents available to CSS devs and to Dave from Heroic Replicas. They are not responsible/liable for managing it in any way, but we share it openly with them as a show of good faith and transparency so that they can check it any time.
