Help Us Build the Arusha Orthodox Mission Center

With the Blessing of His Eminence, Bishop Agathonikos of Arusha and Central Tanzania, under the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria and all of Africa and my Spiritual Father, we humbly ask for your consideration in donating to help finish building the Orthodox Mission Center of Arusha Tanzania. The foundation has been laid but funds are desperately needed to complete it.

Orthodoxy has grown significantly in Africa with many thousands of our African brothers and sisters coming to the faith in Tanzania. The financial difficulties of the faithful in Tanzania is very real and presents many challenges to the spiritual growth of the newly illumined. To date, important daily liturgical text such as the Menaion, works of the Holy Fathers and the Lives of the Saints have yet to be translated into Swahili.

The multifaceted Mission Center, will have a Church dedicated to the Theotokos with various administrative buildings were theological and Liturgical seminars will be held. Most importantly, a translation committee, consisting of Tanzanian clergy who are fluent in English and Greek will be house therein, along with a printing press. The important work of translating and printing the much needed Orthodox books will be the first in Africa and will cover all of East Africa and the Swahili speaking world. Swahili is spoken by 100 million people and is the largest spoken language in Africa.

The Mission Center will be a beacon of light and hope for the faithful of Tanzania and will support the spiritual lives of thousands. Updates on the building progress and well as receipts will be posted. Please help us complete the Mission Center and keep us in your prayers. May your reward be eternal!
