Help us build our Church of the Holy Cross

5 years ago an amazing adventure of faith startet in Playa del Carmen, a new and vibrant catholic comunity, the Parish Holy Cross. We started off in a humble palapa, a typical local straw roof, and from the first mass on, it was too small! Since then, our comunity has been steadily growing. By now, Fr. Hubert celebrates three Holy Masses every Sunday, with over 1100 faithful attending. They mostly have to sit in the gardens, which is nice when there is no rain. Over 180 kids come every week for catecism and other youth activities.

We need to build an appropiate Church for this promising and striving comunity, and we need your help to it! It's simply too much of an effort for us here.

The open Church is like the extension of Jesus arms from the cross that open up to welcome and embrace you. The roof imitates two hands folding for prayer, and Gods light shines down from heaven on the altar.

On a sidenote, the goal for this campaign is given in mexican currency, to simplify transfer of funds to our mexican account. It transfers to 50.000 US$, which is what we need right now to continue our roof. Please consider the actual exchange rate of roughly 20 mexican pesos for 1 US Dollar, so of you want to give, let's say 100 US, put in 2000 mexican pesos.
