Our Journey

For the past eight years, the Kingston Sikh Cultural Association (KSCA) Gurdwara on 50 Hickson Ave has been more than just a place of worship. It has been a sanctuary, a community hub, and a home for the Sikh community in Kingston and close by regions. Each week, 200-400 attendees come together to worship, find solace, and connect. Our Gurdwara has also become a lifeline for over 700 international students from St. Lawrence College and Queen's University each month, offering them a sense of belonging far from home.

Our Mission

The mission of the Gurdwara is to promote the tenets of the Sikh religion and provide a space of worship and community for members of the Sikh community in Kingston. A cornerstone of our Gurdwara's mission is the tradition of Langar, a free blessed meal provided to anyone who comes through our doors. Langar symbolizes our commitment to equality, community, and selfless service. It is a beacon of hope and compassion, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our Need

As our community has grown, so has our need for a larger, more accommodating space. Earlier this year, the Sikh Cultural Association Board made a significant leap of faith by purchasing a new, much larger building to serve as our Gurdwara. This new location will not only accommodate our current members but will also allow us to extend our services and support to even more people in the Kingston community.

However, with this new building comes new financial challenges. Between the mortgage, necessary renovations, and ongoing interest payments, we are in urgent need of $400,000 to cover the remaining costs. This is where we humbly ask for your support.
