Help Us Close the Mental Health Gap

I remember sitting in my living room as a single mom in university, knowing I needed help and not knowing where to find it.

I was just tired. Overwhelmed. Trying to hold everything together.

I searched for support. I found resources. I found advice. I want to Google.

But nothing felt like it was speaking to me.

Nothing felt grounded in my lived experience. Nothing felt culturally aware. Nothing felt human.

So I did what many of us do.

I carried it quietly.

Years later, as a registered social worker, I began to see that same quiet struggle in the people sitting across from me.

Clients leaving sessions wanting support between appointments.
Therapists staying up late sending resources, documenting notes, trying to keep up.
Brilliant professionals burning out.
Brave individuals still feeling alone.

And I realized something.

The problem wasn’t that people didn’t care.
The problem was that the system hadn’t evolved.

So I decided to build what I once searched for.

OMALife is not just a mental health app.
It is a response to that younger version of me.
It is a response to every therapist stretched thin.
It is a response to communities who deserve care that reflects them.

I am building a platform that brings culturally grounded mental health tools directly into people’s hands — while also supporting therapists with systems that reduce unpaid labour and burnout.

This isn’t a side project.

It’s a commitment.

Your support will help us strengthen secure infrastructure, expand meaningful content, and accelerate development so that mental health care becomes more accessible, more responsive, and more sustainable.

I couldn’t find what I needed.

So I’m building it.

And I’m inviting you to help make sure the next person searching for support doesn’t have to search as hard.

We are looking to Raise 40K and your support will help use achieve this goal.

20k - Product and Development

If you believe mental health should be accessible, culturally responsive, and built with community in mind we invite you to be part of this journey.

Every contribution moves us closer to a future where technology supports healing, not just convenience.
