Basement Holding Space Update #2 We’ve Begun

Because of your support, we have officially started preparing the basement that will become our temporary holding space for rescued cats.

The first phase is focused on safety preparation and environmental treatment to ensure the space is clean, secure, and ready before any cats enter. We are taking this process seriously, no animals will move in until the space meets our safety standards.

We are documenting every step and working carefully to build this the right way.

Here’s what still needs to be completed:

• Sealing walls and structural gaps

• Electrical and lighting improvements

• Deep cleaning & sanitation

• Flooring treatment

• Ventilation upgrades

• Storage setup for food and medical supplies

We still need to cover materials, treatments, and essential upgrades to make this space safe.

We are not finished yet.

To responsibly move even one rescued cat into this space, we still need additional funding to complete the remaining work.

‼️ ‼️ Help Us Create a Life-Saving Emergency Space for Cats ‼️‼️

Our goal as a rescue has always been to save as many cats as we can with the limited resources we have. The hardest part of rescue is knowing that sometimes, despite our best efforts, we don’t get to them on time.

There are moments that stay with us, leaving to look for help and returning to find a cat gone, or learning that we arrived too late. At times, if we can’t take a cat or kitten right away, the opportunity to help may be lost.

What do we do when someone asks us to take a cat immediately, but we don’t have a safe place for it, even for one night? What happens when we find a cat after hours with no foster available? Or when we encounter an injured cat but have no open placement? These are real situations we face, and they are incredibly difficult.

Recently, a small local rescue generously offered us a room we can use in emergency situations. This space is not intended for long-term care, but it serves as a critical bridge between the streets and foster homes. These “in-between” spaces allow us to respond when time is limited and options are few.

We know that having access to this space sooner could have helped many cats earlier this year, and we also know that having it now will help us prevent more from being left without care, especially during the winter months.

Before the room can be used, it needs repairs. We must cover the cost of labor and supplies to make it safe, dry, and clean. This GoFundMe was created to help us prepare the space as quickly as possible so it can be used when emergencies arise.
