Swindon Story Shed launched in March 2024, and since then we have been welcomed into the heart of our community. We have given away over 2000 books, supported local charities and other independent businesses, and had an incredible time unlocking the creative potential of so many different people!

Now we are asking for your help bringing to life our most ambitious idea yet - a fully accessible sensory story experience, built in the heart of the town centre. Inspired in part by the fantastic Story Museum in Oxford (https://www.storymuseum.org.uk/ - definitely worth the visit!) as well as the wild imaginations of local children (and grown-ups), this will be a brand new destination designed to bring stories to life and re-imagine what our town centre could be.

The majority of materials used will be recycled, but there are still a few costs involved in a project on this scale. We want to make sure it's safe and enjoyable for everyone! Even a tiny amount helps towards the goal - and if you're not in a position to give right now, letting other people know about it helps a lot too.
