Hi everyone,

My name is Sam, and alongside Lucas, I'm chasing a dream—a dream to create a nail salon that symbolizes resilience, passion, and perseverance.

Right now, we're running "My Aesthetic Nail Bar" from home in Noble Park, Melbourne. We began with very little; Lucas’s incredible nail artistry, my business drive, and a humble setup in our living area. We've grown a loyal client base and now feel ready to take the next step: opening our first professional salon.

But reaching this point has been incredibly challenging.

Our Story: Why We Need Your Support

Sam's Journey

Overcoming Adversity I grew up in a small town in India where educational opportunities were limited, and ambition was uncommon. Most people spent their entire lives in the same town, but I knew I wanted to achieve something significant. To reach my goals, I had to work extremely hard, often seeking extra support from my school. Eventually, I moved to Mumbai for better education, facing numerous challenges along the way, juggling multiple jobs—including delivering food—to survive.

Earning a partial scholarship brought me to Melbourne, but life continued to test me:

I lost $16k to a scam, which took everything I had.

I worked multiple jobs, skipped meals, and sometimes walked hours home because public transport was unaffordable.

Eventually, I realised, starting my own business is an opportunity to achieve financial stability and independence, enabling me to support my family and friends. My parents have always made sacrifices to ensure I had the best opportunities; now, I want to ensure they have a comfortable retirement.

Lucas’s Journey

An Artist Rising from Challenges Lucas is a talented nail artist who started from the ground up, as a helper, and pedicure technician; before his skills started gaining recognition. Today, his artistry is highly praised. Lucas also faced unique challenges as a male in the beauty industry.

Recently, Lucas’s family experienced significant financial difficulties due to a financial scam, resulting in substantial debt. Despite these challenges, Lucas is successfully running My Aesthetic Nail Bar, and clients greatly appreciate his work and artistry. He continues to support his family financially while remaining dedicated to growing our salon

We were excited to launch our salon, but renovation and equipment costs turned out significantly higher than expected. We’ve done everything we can, borrow from family, saved diligently, lived modestly, and cut costs wherever possible—but now we need help to move forward.

My Aesthetic Nail Bar will soon be renamed to Aesthetic Nails & Beauty, reflecting our ambition to expand services to include pedicures, waxing, eyelash extensions, and more.

Our Current Situation & Why Additional Funds Are Needed

We have shortlisted a property and want to sign the lease as soon as possible. However, the builder's quote for fitting out the salon is significantly higher than we expected.

We believe this property will become a unique space, unlike any other salon in the area, emphasizing personalized services and exceptional booking experiences. Everyone deserves the best service, and we are determined to deliver that.

We plan to begin the fit-out on May 1, 2025.

Our goal is to complete the setup within three months and host a grand opening by July 2025.

We have an additional funding need of approximately $50,000. Unfortunately, we cannot secure a bank loan due to the lack of property for security. We are investing all of our savings in this project.
