May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you.
Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhī rājiʿūn. Verily, from Allah we came and to Him is our return.
Our loving grandma Tusmo Adan Abdi has sadly passed away on the 31st March 2020 due to Covid 19. May Allah accept her as a shahīd and grant her Jannatul Firdousul a'la Ameen.
We sadly were not given the chance to say goodbye, hold her hand or hear her voice for the last time, but she was never alone as Allah was with her till the very end alhamdulilah.
My dear grandma was a kind and gentle women who was deeply loved by many, from her family to the community she lived in. Ayeeyo was funny, caring and was always there for any one in need. she was also a strong women who took every calamity on her back as she was considered the most patient person you'll ever meet, who constantly reminded others of Allah (swt) Allahuma'barik. Even though we was told she had a 0% survival rate her constant teachings of qadr, sabr aswell as the power of dua has put ease in everyones heart. Although we will miss her deeply Allah had better plans for her! May Allah reward her for her teachings and efforts by granting her the highest rank in Jannah AMEEN.
One thing my grandma really loved was charity and giving back to her family and friends back in Somaliland. It was her home and a place she loved with her whole heart. As her grandkids we want to continue charity in her name so she can benefit from Sadaqah Jariyah. As Abu Hurairah (ra) reported that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Sahih Muslim).
Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, “Protect yourself from hell-fire even by giving a piece of date as charity.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
So please if you can donate even a small amount so that we can build a Community Well to provide clean and safe water for the poor, in the country that she called home and we call home. This water well can serve more than 1,000 people and are wide and deep, making them dependable during all seasons. These water wells provide enough clean water for families, livestock and crops.
All donations small or big are massively appreciated, and if you're unable to do so then all we ask is that you make dua for my grandma and all those in world that are affected by such calamities.
