Help Us Build a Sustainable Farming Future in El Salvador
Donation protected
My name is Wilber Aragon, and I’m honored to share that I’ve recently been awarded seed capital through the Central American Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and the Development and Acceleration Initiative (DINAMICA) to establish an organic agricultural production project in El Salvador.
With this incredible support, we’re building two greenhouses to grow organic tomatoes, zucchini, onions, cucumbers, and other essential horticulture crops. But this is just the beginning.
Our vision goes beyond production. We aim to:
Educate local farmers in sustainable, environmentally-friendly practices.
Offer access to critical small-scale machinery—like monocultivators, brush cutters, and motorized sprinklers—at affordable rental rates.
Empower small producers who are currently left behind by the rising costs of labor, inaccessible infrastructure, and an over-reliance on toxic farming methods.
Right now, the DINAMICA grant covers 75% of our start-up costs. This GoFundMe aims to raise the remaining 25%, which will allow us to buy equipment and finish construction so we can launch fully and begin working with local communities.
Why It Matters:
In El Salvador, many small farmers are struggling. Labor is disappearing as younger generations look elsewhere for income or emigrate. The cost and logistics of acquiring agricultural equipment are out of reach. Large machinery often can't even make it to farming plots due to poor rural infrastructure. That’s why our focus is on small-scale, mobile, and affordable tools—the kind that can reach the farms and actually make a difference.
But there’s more at stake than economics.
Health and Environmental Impact:
By going organic, we avoid toxic pesticides and chemicals, many of which have been linked to serious health risks, including cancer. For instance, glyphosate—the main ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup—has been declared a "probable carcinogen" by the World Health Organization. Exposure to such chemicals is linked to increased rates of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and other illnesses, particularly among agricultural workers and communities near treated fields.
In contrast, organic produce is grown without harmful pesticides or synthetic fertilizers, meaning:
Healthier food on your plate.
Lower risk of chemical exposure for farmers and consumers alike.
Cleaner water sources, free from agricultural runoff.
Healthier soil, teeming with biodiversity and regenerative microbes.
Support for local flora and fauna, preserving the delicate ecological balance that industrial agriculture disrupts.
A Model for the Future:
This isn’t just about one project—it’s about showing what’s possible. We believe this initiative can become a model for small producers across El Salvador, proving that sustainable agriculture is not only possible but profitable and practical. With momentum, we can spark a movement—one that improves food quality, boosts rural economies, and helps protect our land and water for future generations.
Your donation will help us:
Complete our greenhouses.
Purchase the small-scale machinery farmers need.
Train local producers in organic and sustainable methods.
Launch our equipment-sharing program at accessible prices.
Even a small donation helps us take one more step toward a greener, healthier, and more self-sufficient El Salvador.
Join us in planting the seeds of a better tomorrow.
