Help Us Build a Safe Walk-In Shower

Donation protected
With your help, I can take an important step toward safety and independence by replacing my old tub with a walk-in shower.

For over 10 years, I’ve been living with chronic pain. It started with Achilles injuries that never healed, and then came the onset of osteoarthritis in both knees, with my left knee progressively worsening. This means I live with pain every single day.

Some mornings, just getting out of bed takes every ounce of grit, perseverance, and focus I have. I push through because I want to keep working and supporting my family—but even the simplest of life’s tasks, like walking, have become incredibly difficult.

I now use a motorized chair to get around most areas of my home. But since it doesn’t fit in the hallways, I rely on a cane or walker to reach my bathroom, office, or bedroom.

We even cut down the side of our cast-iron tub to make showering easier. While that has helped a little, it is still painful for me to get in and out of the tub. Many days, my knee pain is already so intense that I have to go without a shower because trying to maneuver into the tub makes it worse.

Living with limited mobility has also affected my mental health, and in the past it led to weight gain. Last year, I began working with a weight-loss clinic, and I’m proud to say I’ve lost over 80 pounds. Unfortunately, despite that hard work, the knee pain has not gone away.

✨ The solution is clear: a walk-in shower with grab bars. This would be life-changing—giving me safer, easier access and reducing the risk of falls, while restoring dignity to something as simple as taking a shower. ✨

We’ve been blessed to find someone willing to take on this project for the lowest quote I’ve received. Even so, the cost is still out of reach for us financially.

Thanks to the generosity of friends and family, I’ve already received some donations. But we are still in need of $6,500 to meet our goal and make this project a reality.

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has already donated. If you’re unable to donate, I would be so grateful if you would share this campaign with your friends and networks. Every little bit helps bring me closer to a safer and more independent life.
