Help Us Build a Safe Aviary for Rescued Wood Pigeons

Every year, we take in injured, orphaned and disabled wood pigeons that have nowhere else to go.
Some arrive after being hit by cars, attacked by predators or suffering from illness. Others are tiny babies that need to be hand reared before they can eventually return to the wild.
While many recover quickly, some need weeks or even months of rehabilitation. During that time, they need far more than just food and medical care. They need space to fly, strengthen damaged muscles, regain confidence and learn the skills they'll need to survive after release.
At the moment, we only have a small aviary. It has served us well, but it simply isn't large enough for the number of wood pigeons we care for or for the length of rehabilitation many of them require.
Our dream is to build a much larger rehabilitation aviary ourselves.
It will provide:
• A safe home for disabled wood pigeons that cannot be released.
• A spacious recovery area for injured birds rebuilding their strength.
• A natural environment where young wood pigeons can develop their flying skills and become independent before returning to the wild.
• Enrichment through branches, planting and different levels, allowing the birds to behave naturally while they recover.
We aren't asking anyone to fund the Labour, we will be building the aviary ourselves.
Every penny raised will go directly towards the materials needed to make it a reality, including timber, mesh, roofing, concrete, fixings and the features that will make it a safe, enriching environment for the birds.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to giving these birds the rehabilitation space they deserve. If you're unable to donate, simply sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
