Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,

I never thought I’d be here asking for help, but my family’s privacy and safety have been increasingly at risk, and a fence is no longer just a “want,” it’s a necessity.

We have three young children, and our backyard is their happy place; it’s where they swim, play, and make memories. Unfortunately, over the past year, we’ve had several uncomfortable and unsettling incidents:

•Neighbors walking straight through our yard without permission.

•Last summer, one neighbor even set up a chair at the edge of our property and sat there watching me and the kids while we were in the pool.

It’s been hard to feel truly safe and at ease in our own home, and it’s heartbreaking to see my kids ask why someone is watching us and why people are walking through the yard. We want our yard to be a place where they can feel free, safe, and protected. Not somewhere they feel like they’re being watched.

A privacy fence would allow us to finally have peace of mind, protect our children, and reclaim our backyard as a private family space. Unfortunately, with the cost of materials and installation, it’s simply beyond our current budget. We own just over an acre of land.

We’ve gotten estimates and the total comes to roughly $12,000. Every dollar raised will go directly toward the cost of building a secure, sturdy privacy fence around our yard.

The photos included are of the back yard and the third photo shows the perimeter that we are looking to get fenced. We did speak to a contractor after I made the video about the neighbor walking through our yard and how it made me feel uncomfortable. After a few people, I made the suggestion of setting up this campaign, my husband and I had a thorough conversation regarding a solution.
