Hi, I’m Gergely.

I’m new to asking people for help, so I can’t say if this attempt will succeed, but I would always blame myself for not trying. I believe in the power of community, and I work hard every day to do good and to help with all the little things I can. I want everyone to see that at age 45, I’m not building for myself — I’m building for those who come after me.

I’ve used the help of ChatGPT because I wasn’t sure if my English was appealing enough to create such an ad. However, I would never use AI to replace the work of any real person unless that is desired by them.

I started my path in life as a typographer — someone who shapes the way words are seen and felt. But over time, I realized that my calling wasn’t just to arrange letters, but to connect with people more deeply and directly. So I made a change — one that would guide the next 20 years of my life.

I became a massage therapist and bodyworker, dedicating myself to the art of healing through touch and presence. This work opened doors — not just into the human body, but into the stories, emotions, and energy that make us who we are. I learned that healing doesn’t always mean curing — it often means holding space, listening, and returning to what is natural.

For the past two decades, I’ve traveled around the world — not as a tourist, but as a learner and guest. I’ve stayed in villages, mountains, forests, and small towns, connecting with people from many walks of life. I’ve listened to their stories, learned their traditions, observed their values, and shared in their daily rhythms. These journeys have shaped my understanding of simplicity, community, and our deep human need for peace and connection.

I share this vision with my childhood friend, Renata — a mother of three, with decades of experience in tourism. Renata dreams of becoming a host to guests from around the world, welcoming them with warmth, care, and the knowledge she has gained throughout her life and career. Together, we want to build a retreat that embodies our shared values of hospitality, nature, and healing.

Today, I am deeply invested in creating this dream retreat. I have put all my resources and savings toward securing the land — a sacred place we want to preserve for nature and for people seeking refuge. However, the cost of making this vision a reality far exceeds what an average working person can manage alone, even if they pool resources with close friends.

That’s why we are reaching out for support — to bring this shared vision to life.

This retreat is more than a project; it’s a sanctuary where the real, the local, and the natural come together. A place that welcomes the weary and celebrates the curious. Where healing is slow, honest, and grounded. And where the beauty of craftsmanship, tradition, and intention lives in every stone, window, garden, and shared meal.

This project doesn’t belong to us alone — it belongs to everyone who believes that nature, slowness, and connection still matter.

This project is planned to be completed by spring 2028. We all have lives to live and work to do, and since we’re not based in Romania, we’ll need to travel for each phase — to purchase materials, schedule labor, and personally oversee every step of the process. Organizing all this with limited time and resources makes the timeline more realistic — and your support even more meaningful.

To protect the integrity of this magical place and prevent outside developers from disrupting the wildlife and ecosystem.

Our location will remain private until the land is fully secured. This ensures the area stays pristine and unspoiled — and allows us to build something sacred, not too commercial.

Currently, I own approximately 2,000 square meters of a 24,000 m² parcel that is up for sale. To make this dream a reality, I need to purchase an additional 8,000 m² — this will give the land access to naturally flowing water and provide enough space for a small pond, which is vital for the permaculture system we’re planning.
