Help Us Build a Mosque in Honour of Our Beloved Sister

We are raising £25,000 to build water wells and a mosque in Ghana Africa, for one of the world’s poorest communities in honour of our dear sister, a devoted mother of four young children, who is bravely facing the final stages of cancer. As her illness progresses, she remains steadfast in her faith, just as she has always been, a pillar of strength, kindness, and generosity in our community.

Throughout her life, she has championed Islam, spreading love, warmth, and support to hundreds of people. Her unwavering dedication has touched countless hearts, and now, we want to honor her legacy in the most meaningful way.

By building a mosque and water wells in her name, we hope to give her the immense reward of Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity). The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that giving water is one of the greatest acts of charity, and a mosque will serve as a place of worship and guidance for generations to come.

Sadaqah Jariyah Opportunity: Building a Mosque and Water Well in a Remote Area of Kumasi, Ghana 

We are pleased to announce a meaningful project being undertaken by Humans In Need: the construction of a mosque and a water well in a remote area of Kumasi, Ghana — a region where many Muslims currently struggle to find proper facilities for prayer and clean water for daily use. 

This initiative is being carried out as a form of Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) — a lasting act of giving that continues to benefit others long after it is completed, and continues to earn rewards for the giver in this life and the next. 

The Mosque 

The mosque will serve as a dedicated place for the five daily prayers, Jumu’ah, and community worship. For many in this remote area, access to a mosque is limited or non-existent. By establishing this house of Allah, the local Muslim population will have a safe, clean, and spiritually uplifting place to connect with their Creator and strengthen their deen. 

The Water Well 

Next to the mosque, we will construct a water well that will provide clean water for ablution (wudu) and everyday needs. In a region where water can be difficult to access, this well will be a vital resource for the entire community. It will not only enable proper preparation for prayer but also promote better hygiene and health for families, children, and the elderly. 

Community Impact 

These two projects combined will bring immeasurable benefit to the surrounding community. The mosque will become a center for spiritual growth and learning, while the water well will relieve the daily burden of water collection and improve quality of life.
