As-salamu alaykum, I hope you’re all doing well. My name is Nabila, and I’m fundraising alongside my big brothers, Hassan and Khamis, to build a Madrasa in Mfenesini, Zanzibar, in memory of our late mother.

Our mother was a woman of immense generosity, always giving to those in need, whether through her kindness, time, or resources. To honour her beautiful legacy, we want to create a Madrasa where children of all ages can come together to learn the Qur’an, Islamic teachings, and life skills in a safe and welcoming environment.

Why This Madrasa?

Mfenesini is home to many children who are eager to learn, but there are very few dedicated spaces for Islamic education. This Madrasa will provide:

• A space for children to learn the Qur’an and Islamic teachings

• A prayer area and wudhu facilities

• A supportive learning environment where children can develop and grow

This project is not just about constructing a building—it is about establishing a sadaqah jariyah (continuous charity) in our mother’s name. Every child who learns here, every prayer that is made, and every letter of the Qur’an that is recited will, InshaAllah, be a source of ongoing reward for her.

What Your Donations Will Help Build

We are focusing on raising £20,000 to fund the construction of the Madrasa. This includes:

• Building classrooms, a prayer area, and wudu facilities

• Providing basic furniture and learning materials such as desks, boards, and prayer mats

• Covering utilities and essential costs to ensure a smooth setup

Once the Madrasa is built, we will focus on securing funds for teachers and other operational needs.
