Help Us Build a Permanent Home for Debre Sahil St. Michael Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church
A small group of faithful Ethiopians in Orlando answered a calling — to establish a home for the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo faith in Central Florida. That calling has grown into a fully recognized, state incorporated in accordance with Chapter 617 of the Florida Statutes and IRS non-profit law code 501(c)(3) nonprofit church with its own property and a resident monk. But the sanctuary still needs to be built. We are asking you to help us finish what God started.
WHO WE ARE
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is among the most ancient Christian churches in the world — rooted in the Apostolic faith received since 34 A.D. Our parish in Orlando carries that same unbroken tradition forward, committed to preserving sacred worship, nurturing families, and extending Christ's light to all who seek it.
Our monk, Melake Tsehay Komos Aba Gebreselasse, resides on the premises and leads prayers every Sunday from 4 AM — performing baptisms, funeral prayers, home blessings, and every sacred service our community depends on.
The land is ours. The faith is unwavering. The building must now be built.

For Ethiopians far from home, this church is more than a place of worship. It is a lifeline — a connection to heritage, language, tradition, and God. It is where children are baptized in the faith of their ancestors. Where the grieving find comfort. Where the lonely find belonging.
