Help Us Build a Healing Center in Memory of Lorraine

My little sister, Lorraine, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2017. She bravely faced this battle with a combination of conventional Western treatments and her incredible spirit. Despite her courage and the best efforts of the NHS, the cancer continued to spread, and we were eventually given the devastating news that there was nothing more that could be done.
Refusing to accept this as the end, Lorraine turned to less conventional therapies—plant medicines, distilled water, vitamins, restful sleep, and an organic plant-based diet. Remarkably, these treatments worked wonders. She looked vibrant and healthy, and her positive outlook remained a beacon of hope in spite of her diagnosis. The only signs of her struggle were the scars from her previous surgeries.
After several months of following this alternative path, a follow-up scan revealed something extraordinary: the cancer on her stomach, which had been the main obstacle to further treatment, had vanished. The doctors were astonished and could not explain this unexpected turn of events. Lorraine's commitment to these treatments had clearly made a difference to her health.
With renewed hope, Lorraine re-entered NHS care, undergoing several operations and rounds of chemotherapy. Sadly, despite her strength and the efforts of her doctors, she passed away on October 24, 2021, at the young age of 44. Her loss has been deeply felt by everyone who knew and loved her.
I have always believed that if Lorraine had continued on her alternative treatment path, while it may not have saved her life, it could have extended it and improved her quality of life in her final days. This belief, and the inspiration Lorraine provided, led me to explore similar alternative therapies.
In the wake of her passing, I traveled to Peru, seeking the same healing Lorraine had found. Through plant diets and other traditional treatments, I experienced profound physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. These therapies not only helped me with my own health issues but also guided me through the grieving process. During this journey, I felt Lorraine's presence with me, and this inspired me to do something meaningful in her memory.
Our Mission: A Healing Center in Lorraine’s Name
In honor of Lorraine, I am raising funds to fund a healing center in Peru, a place where people can turn when they have no other options left, or even as a preventative measure. This center will offer treatments for a variety of chronic illnesses, not just cancer. It will be a sanctuary for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
The money raised will be used to:
• Purchase land in the Amazon in Lorraine’s name, where the native flora and fauna used in plant medicines can be conserved and cultivated.
• Build treatment centers in the Amazon jungle, providing access to alternative therapies for those in need.
• Raise awareness about these alternative treatments, offering hope to others who may be facing incurable illnesses or have been told that conventional medicine cannot help.
Our Journey: Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu
To honor Lorraine’s adventurous spirit and her love of helping others, my partner Rhea and I will embark on the Salkantay Trek in the Peruvian Andes. This challenging 4-day trek, followed by 2 days on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, will see us trekking up to 20KM per day for 6 days, at high altitudes, camping under the stars just as Lorraine would have loved.
After completing the trek, we will visit the site in the Amazon where we hope to establish Lorraine's healing center. This visit will be an important step in bringing this dream to life, as we begin to lay the groundwork for a place where others can find the same hope and healing that Lorraine experienced.
It’s important to note that the trip will be entirely self-funded by Rhea and myself, ensuring that every penny donated will go directly towards building the treatment center in Lorraine’s name.
Lorraine was an avid fundraiser herself, having completed hikes like Kilimanjaro and the Atlas Mountains in Morocco for charity. She always dreamed of hiking to Machu Picchu, so we will be completing this journey in her memory.
How You Can Help
We ask for your support to make this dream a reality. Whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign, you can help us build a legacy in Lorraine’s name that will continue to help others long into the future.
Your contributions will not only help build a healing center but also bring hope to those in need of alternative treatments, just as Lorraine found hope in her journey.
Thank you for helping us keep Lorraine's memory alive and for supporting this mission of healing and hope for all.
