J.A.M Performing Arts Academy was created to give children more than lessons — it was built to give them belonging, confidence, and opportunity.
We are a community-based performing arts academy supporting children and families through dance, drama, singing, stagecraft, acro, and other creative education.
A core part of J.A.M is our strong family feel — where children are known by name, families feel genuinely welcome, and everyone supports one another. This sense of belonging is something our students love and their families deeply value.
Our students work incredibly hard and have been invited to perform at prestigious opportunities, including international performances such as Disney Paris and cruise ship shows. These experiences are life-changing, building confidence, aspiration, and self-belief.
We also currently deliver holiday provision, hopefully soon to be including HAF, from our existing studio. However, due to the size of our space, we are unable to support as many children and families as we know need and rely on this provision.
As our academy has grown, so has demand — but our current space and resources limit how many children we can help.
Many of the opportunities available to our students come with costs that families simply cannot meet in the current economic climate, no matter how dedicated or talented their child may be. We strongly believe that opportunity should never be determined by income.
As part of our wider commitment to children’s wellbeing, we also aim to provide nutritious meals and snacks for our students, alongside developing community-based meal clubs that support families and ensure children have access to the nourishment they need to learn, perform, and thrive.
Our long-term vision is to open a dedicated academy building where children can:
• Learn English, Maths, and Science in a small, supportive setting
• Take part in performing arts and/or sport as part of daily development
• Grow in confidence, wellbeing, and self-belief
• Feel safe, supported, and valued as individuals
We are also working towards charitable status, which will allow us to support even more families and secure sustainable funding for the future.
Funds raised through this campaign will be used for:
• Securing a suitable community building
• Renovation, safety, and accessibility works
• Equipment and learning resources
• Creating a scholarship and opportunity fund for children facing financial barriers
• Short-term enrichment experiences such as day trips, workshops, performances, and activities that many families would otherwise struggle to access.
For many children, J.A.M is more than an academy — it is a second home.
With your support, we can build a future where children are supported academically, creatively, and emotionally — in a space that brings back the community and family feel of times gone by.
Every donation, no matter the size, helps create opportunities that can genuinely change a child’s life.
With heartfelt thanks on behalf of all the academy
